An innovative technology produced after years of research in the company’s laboratories cuts consumption while creating the perfect microclimate in the restaurant kitchen

Comenda has been a world benchmark in professional dishwashing machines since 1962.
With more than forty years’ experience, the company now designs and builds over 200 highly efficient solutions: from small cup and glass washers for cafés to large-scale continuous automated washing systems for restaurants, hospitals, canteens and inflight catering.
The basic idea behind Comenda’s design philosophy, in addition to extremely versatile solutions, is a focus on environmental issues, energy conservation and working conditions.
This is why the company, which has always been committed to research and design of products offering the utmost efficiency, has assigned its R&D department the task of designing a special heat pump: a solution adapted from the refrigeration sector and applied to dishwashers, which has been giving excellent results for fifteen years.


The results are evident: +30% savings

Saving energy, respecting the environment and guaranteeing comfortable working conditions are the three concepts best summing up the many advantages offered by the Comenda dishwasher range with heat pumps: technology which has made the company stand out in the world market for its innovative and exclusive solutions.
Various models of Comenda heat pumps are available to operate with all kinds of tunnel dishwashers – from rack conveyor type with a capacity of 1600 plates per hour to flight dishwashers washing up to 15,000 plates per hour – produce energy for heating water to 60°C, making it no longer necessary for electrical elements or external boilers (they may be connected directly to the cold water supply). Models using this system save at least 30% over the energy consumption of a conventional dishwasher, so the initial investment return in about 2 to 3 years, after which all the savings pays off the machine.
The pump’s ability to absorb the heat produced by the dishwasher reduces thermal irradiation (in some models the heat emission rate is zero): the air from the heat pump returns into the room refreshed and dehumidified, creating optimal working conditions in the washing area, where room temperature is around 20-22°C.This means no air conditioning system is mandatory, resulting in further savings.
Thus the working environment is healthier and more comfortable, improving the conditions for workers in professional kitchens and producing another benefit: with a lower humidity rate in the air, the appearance of mould and peeling paint on the walls is drastically reduced thus restaurants that choose this solution not only cut their electricity bills but save money on expensive redecorating!
