For many years, the major manufacturers of air conditioners have been using valid air filtering systems. They generally consist of an initial filter (prefilter) shaped plastic mesh, that holds the coarse impurities present in the air, in order to avoid their settlement on the inner finned cooling parcels, because they could prevent or reduce their functionality. Under prefilters are placed  active filters: so called because they don't limit their action to a pure mechanical filtering, but thanks to their structure and specific active compounds, through chemical-physical mechanisms, they capture and degradate the pests matters which are in the air. They perform a purifying and sanitizing action that Prefilters, for their composition and mesh size, are unable to achieve. The active filters, in addition to stopping dust and impurities to microscopic size, retain and eliminate mites, pollens, moulds, micro organisms and pollutants.

BESTAIR ELECTROSTATIC AND ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER  

It consists of pairing up an electrostatic fibre filter and an activated carbon filter. The rubbing of the air on the electrostatic fibre filter surface induces a positive charge that attracts and captures small particles of dust, smoke, and allergens, offering a valuable aid in the prevention of allergies and other diseases caused by environmental pollutants or micro organisms present in the air. Its fibre is the result of mixing. PP resin, antibacterial, and anti mould resin, during the spinning phase. Its wavy shape greatly increases the filtering surface. Filters loaded with static electricity, can attract, and retain even the most microscopic impurities present in the air, up to 0.01 micron in diameter. This allows you to control the proliferation of harmful bacterial cultures, which may occur at any conditioner and therefore to counteract any contamination by pathogenic agents. The activated carbon filter works based on the adsorption principle: that is the physical attraction and adhesion of gaseous or liquid molecules (steam) to the surface of a solid. The porous surface of an active carbon filter adsorbs and inhibits gas, odours, fumes, and harmful substances in the air, when the air itself is forced through the activated carbon. The filter can retain particles such as pollen, dust, pollutants, smog, cigarette smoke and spores up to 0.3 micron. The sum of the specific properties of the two filters, as proposed in the BESTAIR ELECTROSTATIC AND ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER turns out an excellent product, which can significantly contribute to the purification of air, even in areas of extreme presence of pollutants. Its effectiveness decreases over time depending on the use and the degree of pollution of the environment in which the air conditioner is placed. As a rule, the filter has to be replaced every three to six months. In any case, it is highly recommended to replace it at least once a year.

BESTAIR PHOTOCATALYTIC LADF FILTER

The photo catalytic LADF filter (Light Accelerant Deodorization Filter) is composed of biosoluble inert material impregnated with activated carbon and titanium dioxide.

The titanium dioxide (TiO2) is the heart of the sanitizing filter.

The TiO2 finds application in various fields, from food (E171) to the cosmetic, from building to health. It is a well-known catalyst capable of degrading by oxidation many organic compounds. Exploiting this property can be obtained materials which, activated by sunlight, are able to destroy organic compounds deposited on them. This characteristic could potentially lead to develop a new class of materials with self-cleaning and depollution properties (self-cleaning clothes, paint and researches on asphalt are the latest news). Exposed to the light, the molecules of titanium dioxide catalyze the oxidation of organic residues (dirt, pollution deposits, and various kinds of micro organisms) in water and carbon dioxide. It eliminates bacteria by destroying their membranesf and clots the proteins of viruses inhibiting their activity. It decomposes oxides of nitrate which cause smog and strong smells, halogenated aromatic compounds, nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons (formaldehyde, dodecene, benzene, ammonia, smoke of cigarettes, external pollution, fumes from furniture, inks, carpets, and cleaning materials, cooking smells) by photo catalysis, thanks to the combined action of ultraviolet ray, by dissecting their molecules into harmless and odourless compounds (carbon dioxide and water). We recommend the regular exposure to sunlight, in order to activate and regenerate the filter and to extend its validity.
